Our Story:

Hawai'i's First Sonic – Born on Maui

In February 2023, we opened Hawai'i's very first Sonic Drive-In in Kahului, Maui. As a locally owned and operated franchise, we're proud to bring the classic Sonic experience to our island while honoring Hawai'ian culture and community.

Led by Managing Partner Edwin Prather and stakeholders including Hawaii music artist Glen from Maoli, Sonic Hawai'i isn't just another chain restaurant – we're locals serving locals (and welcoming visitors too!).

🍔 Exclusive Island Flavors We created the Teri Burger exclusively for Hawai'i in partnership with Aloha Shoyu Company – a teriyaki twist on the classic Sonic burger you can only get here!

⏰ Open When You Need Us Great food shouldn't have a curfew. That's why we're open late till 2AM on Fridays and Saturdays – because we know island life doesn't stop at 10pm.

📍 Perfectly Located Our Kahului location is the closest fast food restaurant to Kahului Airport, making us a convenient stop for travelers, airport workers, and locals looking for quick, delicious meals.
